Night of the 2000 Emmys: It’s good to be Richard Schiff.
Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford on one of the sets for “Manchester.”
Great fun, great role, and really such a pleasure to have Aaron’s words to say. And such a great honor and treat to work opposite Allison. It’s all just the luck of the draw, in some ways. They had approached me a year before to play a reporter in an episode, and then that role got canceled for whatever reason, but then a year later the Simon Donovan thing came up…you were just given kind of a bio: “This guy’s a Secret Service agent, he’s investigating a real threat to C.J., and we don’t know where this is headed.” That kind of thing. But in the first week, actually, Allison came up to me and said, “They’re gonna kill you.” I said, “What do you mean they’re going to kill me?” She said, “We get along too well. They’re gonna kill you.” And she was right! [ x ]

Allison Janney: Bitter Party of Five, Episode 7 (by Bitter P)
Good Morning, CJ
A perfect example of Aaron Sorkin’s fast-paced, walk-n-talk television masterpiece
———————
Other shows have come along that I’ve loved as much, but none that I have loved more.
The West Wing, “The Crackpots and These Women,” dir. Anthony Drazan (1999)
Ron Swanson, CJ Cregg, and a wolf highway. What more could you ask for?
As early as the third episode with these two.
The West Wing ► Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc (1x02)
“‘After it, therefore because of it’. It means one thing follows the other, therefore it was caused by the other. But it’s not always true. In fact it’s hardly ever true. We did not lose Texas because of the hat joke. Do you know when we lost Texas?””When you learned to speak Latin?”
Nothing you ever say will keep me from pretending Sam is a baby Chris Traeger, especially not after this

No argument here. :)
Newfound appreciation of Timothy C. Simons from “Veep,” and this only makes me love Allison Janney more.
