Mike and Meldrick - Homicide: Life on the Street
This one ends in sadness and grief and the uncontrollable urge to throw something across the room.
But before it gets there, it’s the kind of perfect, easy chemistry that you’d happily watch for forty minutes straight, even if all they did was bicker over the breakfast table. C’mon. A whole episode of Mike and Meldrick arguing over what constitutes an appropriate hearty meal and alternately stealing sections out of the newspaper? I’d watch the Hell outta that. They start off their first case together alikening themselves to a couple on a blind date, trying to work their way onto one another’s good sides, and eventually they settle into such beautiful rhythm together, an intuitive fraternal bond, a perfect partnership. Which made the eventual betrayal all the more devastating (and no, I am not even close to over it, and I love him but I’ll never forgive him because how could you do that he protected you he was there for you and where the fuck were you for him?!?! God I am still so angry but mostly sad and it’s hard for me to talk about this relationship because it was SO BEAUTIFUL and then tragic and I need to stop now).
